I have just begun using Drops to teach my girlfriend to speak English. We are using the American English option. Several of the words are actually not American English. They may be British, Australian, or some other English, or they may just be wrong. For example, the subway is called the “underground.” Different cities may have different names for their subway, but we do not call it the “underground” in American English. A native English speaker would understand that you mean “subway,” but it’s not a good word for new learners to learn first. In addition, “trolleybus” is not used in American English. It may be called a “trolley,” or “tram” would also be understood, but it’s definitely not a “trolleybus.”
In addition, fruits should be fruit.
